Volunteers, Staff, and Friends

The Portland Community Free Clinic is a volunteer model clinic. Care is provided by physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses who generously give their time to the clinic. Patients are greeted by our volunteer receptionists, another integral part of our care team. Many of our volunteers have been with us since the beginning and we are grateful for their dedication to the clinic and the people we serve. Click here to learn more about our volunteers.

In addition to the volunteers we have a core of part-time paid staff who oversee all clinic activities, including assisting the volunteers during the actual clinic hours, patient case management, obtaining medication assistance for patients, making referrals, and coordinating volunteers. Meet the staff by clicking this link.

The Friends of the Portland Community Free Clinic was created in 2013 to provide financial support, strategic vision, and serve in an advisory capacity to the PCFC. The Friends received IRS approval as a 501(c)3 organization in 2014 and is licensed by the state of Maine to receive charitable donations. All donations made to the Friends are used to support the work of the PCFC and are tax deductible, to the extent allowed by law. Meet the members of the Board by clicking this link.

If you would be interested in joining the PCFC volunteer team or becoming involved with the Friends organization, please click here to send us a message. We will be in touch. Thanks in advance for your interest!
