The Friends host an annual golf tournament. In 2024 it was named the Dr. Tom McInerney Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of Dr. Tom McInerney, who died unexpectedly in February 2023. Dr. Mac was a beloved volunteer of the PCFC for 16 years. His joyful energy, empathic views, sense of humor, and kindness are deeply missed. Tom loved the golf tournament. The Friends are honored to remember him in this special way.
The golf tournament occurs annually in October. A scramble/best ball format is used for this event, with teams assigned to one of the 18 holes. All team members tee off and the best ball placement is selected. Each golfer then hits the ball from this place and proceeds until the lowest score for the hole is achieved. The process continues for all 18 holes. The team then posts its final score. Various contests are also part of the day. These include putting green, longest drive, and closest to the pin contests.
